Eli Beer is the founder and president of United Hatzalah, a volunteer-based emergency medical services organization in Israel. Born in Israel in 1973, Beer was inspired to create United Hatzalah after witnessing a terrorist attack in Jerusalem in 1988. He started the organization in 2006 with the goal of providing faster emergency medical response times by training and mobilizing volunteers to respond to medical emergencies in their own communities.
Beer is a social entrepreneur and has received numerous awards for his work with United Hatzalah, including being named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Jewish Life by the Algemeiner newspaper. He has also spoken at various international conferences and events, sharing his vision of community-based emergency medical services.
In addition to his work with United Hatzalah, Beer is also a paramedic and has responded to countless emergencies himself. He continues to be a driving force behind the organization's mission to save lives and improve emergency medical services in Israel.
